A network's physical topology

Physical Topology
There are three main types of physical topology, these are: Bus, Star and Ringed.



Bus
 

This is an image of a "Bus" topology

 What it does
You can think of "Bus" topology as how real life busses run, like on a circuit. From terminator to terminator the "Bus" (Data e.g a picture of a video) flows, going to every computer and other peripheral devices.

Star

What it does
The star topology runs from usually one main Hub, the wires you see in the above image are called ethernet cables, they carry data from the Hub to the computer(s).
